National Dental Hygiene Month
We couldn't let National Dental Hygiene Month pass without recognizing our awesome Dental Hygienist, Dana!
Dana has been with HealthLink for one year now and we got to quickly catch up with her in between patients to learn more about her very important job here at our free clinic.
Q: How long have you been a dental hygienist?
A: 17 years
Q: Why did you become a dental hygienist?
A: I was in my 30s and needed a career change and my friend, who is a dentist, gave me the idea of going back to school to be a Dental Hygienist! I thought, well, I am pretty good with my hands and being on my feet, and I went for it. It is hands-down the best thing I ever did!
Q: How long have you been working at HealthLink?
A: Almost one year! Wow!
Q: Why did you want to work for our free dental clinic?
A: I love how we are really helping people here who need it. The patients are always so grateful to be here. This is the best job I have ever had because of that.
The dentists here are also incredible. They volunteer their time to be here which is amazing and they really hear what I have to say and my recommendations. We are a real team coming together to provide the best possible care to our patients.
I also get to help teach the students at Manor and Montgomery County Community College through our partnership with those schools! It is so great to see them get the experience they need while make a real difference and giving back.
Q: What do you like to do outside of your job here at HealthLink?
A: I am also a track coach for New Hope Solebury Highschool, and I have three kiddos!
